Traffic Technology Services Comes to Oregon State
The ITE and ASCE student chapters worked together to host Traffic Technology Services (TTS). TTS is an innovative tech company that specializes in the data collection and dissemination required for connected/automated vehicle applications. TTS employs many disciplines to enhance the Nation’s transportation system, such as transportation engineers, software programmers, data scientists, and business managers. On behalf of TTS, Robi Islam (a PhD graduate from Oregon State and quality engineer at TTS), discussed TTS’ flagship product: Personal Signal Assist. Dr. Islam explained the process of signal prediction, the endless terabytes of real-time data involved, and provided examples of motor vehicles equipped with the technology. Personal Signal Assist also powers various automotive OEMs safety services, mobility, and environmental applications (i.e., eco-driving). Robi concluded by answering various questions from students and encouraging students to consider TTS when they graduate.
